The 1st Water Forum at Zappeion

In December 2019, Zappeion Megaron in Athens hosted the 1st FORUM on water, an important event under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos. The Forum was organized by Dr. Michalis Christakis, President of the “Kleisthenis” Association, Dr. Mary Marouli-Zilemenou, President of the Center for European Studies and Studies “I. Kapodistrias” and Professor Grigoris Tsaltas, Director of the Environmental and Climate Research Laboratory. The Forum was a platform for discussion and analysis of water problems, one of the most vital elements for human survival and environmental balance. Renowned experts, scientists and professionals from various fields gathered to share their knowledge and propose solutions to improve water quality. One of the keynote speakers was Kostas Athanasiou, Camelot’s® President, who offered an extensive analysis of the problems related to water quality. Mr. Athanasiou pointed out that the water we use daily to drink, cook, wash our food and give to our pets must be free of pollutants and harmful substances. He analyzed the various problems faced by drinking water, such as contamination by heavy metals, chemical residues, microbial pollutants and other harmful factors. In his speech, Mr. Athanasiou stressed the importance of water purification systems as the necessary and correct solution to ensure certified clean and healthy water both at home and outdoors. He explained how these systems can effectively remove 100% harmful substances from water, improving water quality and protecting consumer health. He also underlined that the use of water purification systems contributes to the protection of the environment, reducing the need for plastic water bottles and the associated environmental burden. Forum attendees had the opportunity to be informed about the latest developments and technologies in the field of water treatment and purification. Through the presentations and discussions, the challenges and prospects for addressing water quality problems at national and international level were highlighted. This event was extremely successful, offering a platform for the exchange of ideas and cooperation between the different stakeholders involved.
