Visit to NSF and U.S. EPA offices in the U.S.
Mr. Costas and Mr. Hercules Athanasiou, distinguished experts in the field of water quality, had the honor to be invited by Professor and Special Researcher of Water Pollutants, Mr. Christian G. Daughton, Ph.D., of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA). Mr. Dr. Daughton, who works in the Research and Development Office, National Exhibition Laboratory, Department of Environmental Sciences in Las Vegas, invited the two Greek experts to visit his office’s offices for an important briefing and knowledge exchange. During their visit to the offices of the U.S. EPA, Mr. Athanasiou had the opportunity to be informed about the latest results of the investigations concerning the poor state of water quality. These surveys have revealed alarming data on pollutants affecting drinking water and their impact on public health and the environment. This information is crucial for formulating strategies and policies aimed at protecting water quality and citizens’ health. During the visit, an important proposal was made to Mr. Hercules Athanasiou.
Professor Daughton suggested that Mr. Hercules Athanasiou be included in the research scientific team of the U.S. EPA .
